This month, we’d like to highlight our Forever Fathers Assistant, Arturo! Arturo started attending the Forever Fathers support group over four years ago and quickly became a mentor to other dads.
When he first started at Forever Fathers, Arturo said he felt out of place because other dads’ struggles were not his own. But he enjoyed the class and kept coming back to learn more about fatherhood and to be an advocate for other dads.
“I love coming here, meeting new dads and watching their progress” said Arturo. “I also love to see how the group has grown from a handful to a full room.”
Arturo considers the best part of Forever Fathers to be how he and the team always encourage other participants to become better fathers and caregivers, to open up and to get things off their chest.
“It’s a place without judgement” he said.
In between his time at KidsFirst and as a Maintenance Manager for a local property complex, Arturo loves football and playing with his kids. He and his wife, Carrie, have been married for almost 15 years and have five amazing kids together. He considers himself a devoted dad and husband and he would do anything for family.
