This month we’d like to show some love to our very own mother-daughter duo, Abbey and Connie!
They both started their journey at KidsFirst in 2013. Abbey came aboard as a receptionist and her daughter Connie started by volunteering for our Incredible Years class.
“My time volunteering was very fulfilling, heart-warming and healing” said Connie, “When a position opened up, I knew I had to go for it.”
She currently works for KidsFirst in conjunction with Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) to support youth who have been exploited or are at risk.
Abbey now has twice the responsibility while serving double duty: she is a case manager at our Auburn location as well as the receptionist.
Abbey and Connie have lots of love and respect for each other. When they both started working together at KidsFirst, they felt they had a chance to grow even closer. Now their relationship is stronger than ever, and they are so happy to both have careers they are passionate about!

Say hello to Dayna, our new field employee!
Dayna is partnered with Placer County’s Children’s System of Care, working as the Child and Family Team Meeting (CFT) Coordinator. Dayna schedules CFT meetings for families engaged in the child welfare system to connect them with social workers and community partners in order to provide services and resources.
“My favorite part about working at KidFirst is the kindness and support that everyone gives to each other in order to help the community,” said Dayna.
In May, Dayna received her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. She hopes to pursue a career within the mental health field focusing on the well-being of young children and their families.
In her down time, Dayna loves spending time with her family and pets. Her favorite movie is Jim Carrey’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
