When the world shut down in March, the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community grew exponentially. KidsFirst’s families were no different, and we were there to help.
In one such family, four out of the five working adults lost their jobs. When KidsFirst opened our food pantry through the generous donations of our supporters, Rita* was one of the first people there to pick up supplies for her family of seven. The relief and gratitude she expressed was moving.
The continued struggle with staying at home has put the children in our community at higher risk for mental health concerns as well as an increased risk of child abuse and neglect. As always, KidsFirst hopes to be there to support the most vulnerable among us.
With so much lost funding this year, KidsFirst is relying more than ever on individual and corporate donations.
