Ryan Ronco – Secretary of the Board

An essential part of the KidsFirst team is our Board of Directors. Board members provide oversight, guidance, fundraising assistance, and strategic direction to ensure we achieve our mission and operate effectively. Their collective expertise, dedication, and commitment are critical to our success in preventing child abuse and neglect, strengthening families, and working toward our vision for all children to live in a safe, healthy, and nurturing home.

We are shining a spotlight on the dedicated team behind the organization starting with our Board Secretary, Ryan Ronco. Ryan is Placer County’s clerk-recorder-registrar of voters. He was appointed to the position by the Placer County Board of Supervisors in 2016, was elected to the post by Placer County’s voters in 2018 and was reelected for another four-year term in June of 2022.

Ryan was actively involved in the KidsFirst community long before joining the board. He first began attending our annual fundraising events, and later volunteered at our Dr. Seuss Reading Day. Ryan was elected to the KidsFirst board of directions in 2018.

“Being on the KidsFirst board allows me to give back to my community, while helping to ensure the continuity of all the important programs offered by the organization, like the Forever Fathers program,” Ryan shared.

Forever Fathers provides dads with tools and support that perhaps were not modeled for them when they were growing up. The program holds a special place in Ryan’s heart because he firmly believes in its purpose.

“As the product of a divorced home, I can understand how hard it is to learn these skills without having a proper example,” Ryan added. “Forever Fathers is a wonderful resource for these men who are committing to be a part of their children’s lives.”

Ryan’s personal experience contributes to his strong affinity for KidsFirst and we are honored to have him as a part of our team.

In addition to his career and involvement with KidsFirst, Ryan stays busy as a dedicated community member. He serves on the board of directors for the Sierra College Foundation, the Bill Santucci Memorial Scholarship Committee, and UP Pageantry.

When out of the office, he enjoys reading whatever he can get his hands on, collecting comic books, playing ice hockey, and goofing around with his adult children.

We encourage you to say hello to Ryan when you see him out in the community. We are grateful for his support!
